The work depicts two amphitheatrical cities shaped around elongated, elliptical forms, positioned in quiet dialogue with one another.
One is anchored by the presence of the sun, radiating warmth and intensity, while the other gathers itself around a luminous lunar core. Across both landscapes, traces of collapse and growth co-exist.
In creating this piece, I was drawn to the enduring symbolism of balance: the subtle tension between opposing forces and the continual search for harmony between yin and yang within the body and soul.
I have always felt a strong affinity for the oval and elliptical form — its sense of motion, continuity, and softness — and I’m naturally drawn to its ability to suggest both containment and infinity at once.
